You can easily access your travel schedule, even when offline.  You can get very useful features like when to leave for the airport and essential real-time alerts.

Hopper

If you know where you want to go but have not yet booked flight tickets. Hopper is a great app to watch prices for that destination. hopper also predict the future cheapest prices and you will get a notification when you should buy the tickets to get the best price.

Skyscanner

Skyscanner is such a user-friendly app for booking flights. I use it every time when I book a flight. You can type in your departure and destination Anywhere to see where to go for the lowest price from your destination. It is also a great app to use where you can put in the whole month instead of a specific travel date to see the lowest price to travel. You can also get a good view of the best prices by using the calendar mode. Skyscanner also gives you the opportunity to rent a car and book hotels.

Momondo

Momondo works similarly to Skyscanner.  I have personally got cheaper flight tickets from Skyscanner, they usually don’t filter out flight travels that takes long hours, but cheaper tickets. Momondo shows which companies that gives the cheapest prices. Momondo is also a great app for booking hotels where you see the rating of the different hotels.

Kayak flights

Kayak flights also compare many different companies at the same time and show you the cheapest prices. You can sign up for alerts and you can also put the specific route on watch if you want to see if the prices change.

Accommodation apps

Airbnb

Airbnb is something most of us are familiar with. People are renting out their homes, room and property for a short period of time. Sometimes it is even cheaper than a hostel. There are many unique Airbnbs all over the world and those get booked many months in advance. So book the Airbnb early, the best ones get booked first.

Hostelbookers

It is a good idea to spend the time to build a profile and recommendations. When you choose a couch, make sure you always read the reviews. Couchsurfing is also a great way to meet other travellers where there are meetings and events in cities all over the world.

Booking is a well-known app and website where you can book a hotel room, homestays and hostels. They often offer last-minute deals and it is an excellent app to read and write reviews. You can select the hotel with the best reviews and stars. I always recommend reading the worst reviews.

Trivago

You might have seen the Trivago commercial on TV. It is no surprise what the app is about. The app/website show you a list of the hotels with the websites that offer the lowest prices. You can select the hotels to show the ones best reviews on top as well as the best prices.

This is indeed an exhaustive list of travel apps. Used many of them but many of them are new and hope to be using them in 2018. The Wi-Fi tracker is something that I feel would be quite useful and so also Duolingo. Travel apps are really changing the way we travel.

Thank you for sharing so many useful apps! For me, Duolingo sounds great as i feel that if I go to another culture and yet dont know how to talk in their language, the trip is useless!
